“Agricultural Area Development Project for Organic Certification Standards”

A community enterprise group, established by local residents in Nasa Nuan, Kantarawichai District, Maha Sarakham Province, has come together to engage in organic vegetable cultivation. This community enterprise was created with the aim of producing organic vegetables for both local consumption within the community and the surrounding districts in proximity to Maha Sarakham University, Maha Sarakham Province. In the year 2020, the group consolidated its efforts and officially registered as a community enterprise. Maha Sarakham University allocated approximately 10 acres of land for organic vegetable cultivation with a commercial focus, catering to the growing demand for health-conscious markets. The cultivated organic vegetables included local favorites such as Chinese kale, cucumber, coriander, basil, eggplant, water hyacinth banana, lettuce, and other varieties. Following one year of cultivation and market testing, the initiative has received continuous and growing interest from health-conscious consumers. As a result, the production management approach has been continuously developed, covering aspects ranging from cultivation techniques within the fields, water and fertilizer management systems, and product distribution to local and neighboring markets.
